Carried Heavy Weapons (for Mechs)

Assault Rifle

Though introduced late in the 3rd World War, the BCV sized Assault Rifle has become a staple of mechanized warfare. Able to be used in one or two hands easily, this weapon is balanced for targeting one foe or firing bursts at small groups.

Autocannon

Originally modified from damaged defense turrets, these large multi-barreled guns fire massive amounts of hot metal at their targets. More modern versions share ammunition with the Gespallent pattern Chain Cannon while others use ammunition belts built for capital ship AA guns.

Battle Rifle

Advertised as a replacement for the tried and true Assault Rifle, the Battle Rifle has more advanced stabilizer magnets and is capable of causing more damage. It is considerably more bulky than its predecessors and cannot easily be used in 1 hand (taking a -5 penalty to attack rolls).

Long Rifle

The first BCV sized hand carried ranged weapon, the Long Rifle is almost uniquely used by the UN-series Longbow mechs. Even 30 years after it’s first deployment, the Long Rifle is among the most powerful ranged weapons on the battlefield. However, the size of the weapon makes it harder to use on the move. If you do not aim before making an attack with a sniper rifle you take a -5 penalty to your attack roll.

Linear Rifle

An advanced version of the Long Rifle, it uses powerful magnetic accelerators to move a single projectile at five times the speed of sound. Like the Long Rifle, it’s wielder suffers a -5 penalty to attack rolls if they have not aimed immediately before the attack. The Linear Rifle ignores five points of DR.

Gauss Magnum

The Gauss Magnum is a mech sized pistol using powerful magnetic coils to accelerate a hollow-tipped bullet towards the target. While this weapon provides solid damage against armored target, it excels against targets equipped with a Combat Shield or Barrier. A target with SR or BR hit who takes damage from this weapon greater than their SR or BR loses 10 points from their Shield instead of the normal fire. Unlike other mecha weapons, you are proficient with this weapon if you have the Weapon Proficiency: Pistols Feat.

SMG

A scaled down ranged weapon developed by Elzam Mechanics for use with their UN-06 Longbow Delta and EZM-808 Saiga, it has become popular as a sidearm for mechs. The SMG is useful against small vehicles and lightly armored mechs, making it a solid sidearm. Unlike other mecha weapons, you are proficient with this weapon if you have the Weapon Proficiency: Pistols Feat.

Combat Shotgun

The primary weapon of the EZM-808 Saiga (though numerous copycat versions exist), the Combat Shotgun is a deadly medium to close ranged weapon. Despite being a ranged weapon, you threaten squares adjacent to you with the Combat Shotgun, allowing you to make Attacks of Opportunity. When firing at target’s at point blank range, you gain a +6 bonus to damage (before any multiplier)
